Senedd

Where Wales Makes Its Decisions

Senedd

The Welsh Parliament is the democratically elected body that represents the interests of Wales and its people.

Commonly known as the Senedd, it makes laws for Wales, agrees Welsh taxes and holds the Welsh Government to account.

Designed by architect Richard Rogers, the Senedd building combines glass, Welsh slate, and sustainable materials to create one of the most recognisable landmarks in Cardiff Bay.

The building is open to the public most days, offering free entry, exhibitions, and opportunities to observe parliamentary debates.

Located beside the Pierhead Building and overlooking the waterfront, the Senedd plays a central role in Welsh public life.
