Our Story

The Everest Bar & Eatery was founded by brothers Dip Prasad Pun CGC and Jhalak Pun, who share a vision to bring something special to their hometown of Cardiff.

Dip Prasad Pun is widely known for his bravery while serving in the British Army, where he was awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross (CGC) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II after single-handedly fighting off Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan. He has also received the Pride of Britain Award and recently completed a Master’s Degree in Business Management at Cardiff University.

His brother, Jhalak Pun, is the owner of a successful security company and previously served in the Police Force for several years. He is also a trained martial arts expert. Both brothers are dedicated family men, each married with children.

Originally from Nepal, the Pun brothers have spent over two years planning and developing The Everest Bar & Eatery. Their aim is to create a welcoming venue that combines authentic Nepalese heritage with British hospitality.

The restaurant features an extensive food menu designed to cater for a wide range of tastes, alongside 24 taps at the bar and speciality bottled beers including Sherpa and Ghurka Beer, reflecting their Nepalese roots.

Their vision is to provide high-quality food, drinks and entertainment in a warm, lively and safe environment.

Dog friendly.
